Resource Spotlight
Our team is excited to launch our new Professional Development Bootcamp this quarter! The OCOB Professional Development Bootcamp is a 6-week comprehensive career development program designed to guide students through the process of discovering their own career path and to help them become successful within their career exploration. Students will be paired with Career Peers who will act as their Career Peer Coach.
What sets this program apart is the personalized approach to career readiness. Students can choose from 10 specific tracks tailored to their individual needs and interests. These tracks cover a range of career readiness topics, from reviewing your resume and cover letter to preparing for interviews and navigating internships/full-time positions.
A Career Peer Coach offers a unique approach to career readiness guidance that differs from that of industry professionals. As students ourselves, we share a deep sense of camaraderie with our fellow students, creating a comfortable and approachable environment that allows students to open up and discuss their career aspirations freely. With first-hand knowledge of the challenges students face in navigating college life, applying for internships, and transitioning to the workforce, we provide empathetic guidance and support tailored to each student's specific needs. Our role is focused on supporting students throughout their career journey, and we have the flexibility to meet with them both during and outside of work hours. We prioritize each student, ensuring they feel confident and supported as they progress through the program.
The Professional Development Bootcamp is a six-week program designed to offer a more personalized and intensive approach to career readiness. In contrast to a general 10-week course, the bootcamp focuses on providing practical, hands-on experience and skill-building, with a curriculum that is tailored to each student's needs and goals.
One of the key benefits of the program is the opportunity for students to work closely with a dedicated Career Peer, who provides personalized guidance and support throughout the program. Unlike a traditional class setting, the Career Peer offers real-time feedback in each meeting, ensuring that students leave each session feeling more confident and well-prepared for their career journey.
